Okraku made the disclosure while appearing before Parliament’s Select Committee on Youth and Sports on Wednesday, November 4.
“Your Black Stars, your Black Queens, and 18 other national teams that we do have, have access to one bus that was purchased by the FA in the year 2008. 20 national teams using one bus,” he told the committee.
With the vehicle unavailable, the GFA had to hire alternative transport during the most recent international window, which ran from September 21 to October 6.
“Now the bus is broken, so during the last international window, the FA had to rent a bus,” Okraku said.
He said the lack of adequate transport was one of the basic issues that needed to be resolved to establish a sustainable football system.
“So if we want to create a sustained football ecosystem, these are the fundamentals. These are the reasons why we’ve not had a sustained and continuous victorious stories over generations. These are the hard truths,” he added.
