Under the arrangement, every participating club is entitled to GH¢120,000. The support is designed to assist with essential expenses, strengthen club administration and provide a more sustainable foundation for football development in Ghana’s second-tier competition.
The funding will also help clubs meet routine running costs, including expenses linked to player welfare, logistics and administration as they compete in the league.
The GFA has separately confirmed that it will continue to cover several key match-day costs for Division One League fixtures. These include the fees of referees, Match Commissioners, venue media officers and cameramen.
By taking responsibility for those expenses, the association aims to reduce the financial burden on clubs involved in staging league matches.
The GFA said its partnership with Universal Merchant Bank formed part of wider efforts to improve the financial sustainability of the competition and support the continued growth of football at the second tier of Ghana’s domestic league structure.
