The Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) has held its Ordinary Congress in Bolgatanga, with stakeholders reviewing the previous campaign and discussing priorities for the 2026/27 football season.
The meeting took place at the Regional House of Chiefs and brought together representatives of the region’s football community to consider matters affecting the development of the game.
As the Association’s highest decision-making body, the congress provided an opportunity to assess activities from the past season and approve key plans for the new campaign.
The agenda included the Association’s Activity Report, its Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report, as well as the proposed budget for the 2026/27 season.
Addressing the gathering, Upper East Regional Football Association chairman Salifu Seidu Zida said unity, peace and togetherness were essential to the continued growth of football in the region.
He encouraged stakeholders to move beyond their differences and work towards a shared vision for strengthening grassroots football, developing young talent and creating more opportunities for people involved in the game.
Zida said long-term progress would depend on a united approach and mutual respect among club administrators, referees, coaches and other members of the football fraternity.
He also stressed that all stakeholders had a collective responsibility to support the development of football across the Upper East Region.
The congress was attended by Samuel Aboabire, a Ghana Football Association Executive Council member and chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association.
Regional Football Associations Coordinator Daasebre Adu-Asare Michael was also present.
Their participation underlined the need for cooperation between the Ghana Football Association and the various Regional Football Associations in efforts to advance football development across Ghana.
The successful staging of the congress gives football stakeholders in the Upper East Region an opportunity to build on their shared plans and strengthen efforts to create a more united and progressive football community.
