The 2026/27 Women’s Premier League season gets under way this weekend, with former champions Hasaacas Ladies travelling to the capital to play Army Ladies in the Southern Zone.
The match will take place at El Wak Sports Stadium, while debutants Rootz Sistaz will begin their first top-flight campaign at home against Oak Ladies.
Army Ladies v Hasaacas Ladies
Army Ladies open their league campaign on Saturday with a demanding home fixture against Hasaacas Ladies at El Wak Stadium.
The hosts will look to make the most of home advantage, but face one of the established teams in Ghanaian women’s football in their first match of the season.
Jonina Ladies v Police Ladies
Jonina Ladies start their fourth consecutive Premier League season at home against former champions Police Ladies at the Antie Aku Astro Turf.
The home side have won both of their previous season openers since securing promotion and will aim to continue that record.
Police Ladies, meanwhile, will be seeking a positive beginning as they target a return to the top four.
Samartex Ladies v Epiphany Warriors
Samartex Ladies host Epiphany Warriors at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in their opening fixture of the 2026/27 campaign.
The experience gained by Samartex during last season’s competition will be important as they look to begin with fresh purpose and provide their supporters with an early reason to celebrate.
Immigration Ladies v LadyStrikers
Immigration Ladies return to the top flight with a home game against LadyStrikers.
The service side will be aiming to collect maximum points on their return, although they face a difficult challenge from the Cape Coast-based visitors.
LadyStrikers enjoyed a consistent campaign last season and will hope that form helps them produce a strong start away from home.
Rootz Sistaz v Oak Ladies
Rootz Sistaz will make their Premier League debut when they welcome Oak Ladies to the Senchi Methodist Astro Turf.
Oak Ladies had to fight to retain their top-flight status during the 2025/26 season and will be determined to begin the new campaign on a stronger note.
A victory for either team would provide an important boost for the remainder of the season, with both sides seeking an early advantage in their first Southern Zone fixture.
