Al-Ittihad defender Stefan Kler has been given permission to join Belgian club Beveren on loan until the end of the current season.
The Saudi club confirmed the agreement on its official account on X, saying it had accepted Beveren’s request to sign Kler on a temporary basis. The move will see the player leave Al-Ittihad for the remainder of the campaign as he begins a new spell in Belgian football.
Kler is expected to return to Al-Ittihad when the loan ends, unless further developments lead to a change in his situation. The agreement currently covers the period until the conclusion of the season.
The decision forms part of Al-Ittihad’s efforts to give the defender a greater opportunity to play and continue his development. A move to a new club is expected to provide Kler with more space to progress and the possibility of securing more regular minutes on the pitch.
Al-Ittihad wished Kler success before the start of his new experience with Beveren and expressed its hope that the loan would help him improve his level. The club also hopes he will return with additional experience after spending the remainder of the season in Belgium.
Kler’s departure is part of wider squad-management work being carried out by Al-Ittihad. The club is seeking to organise its squad more effectively during a campaign featuring strong competition, including by adding new players and allowing some members of the squad to pursue opportunities away from the club.
For Kler, the move represents a new chapter in his career away from Al-Ittihad, although only on a temporary basis. He will continue his development with Beveren before the planned return to the Saudi club at the end of the loan period.
The agreement gives the defender the chance to seek greater involvement and build further professional experience in Belgian football. Al-Ittihad’s decision also reflects the club’s desire to support players whose development may benefit from regular opportunities elsewhere while it manages the demands of the current season.
Beveren will therefore become Kler’s temporary home until the end of the campaign, with the player leaving the “Tigers” after securing the club’s approval for the move. The expectation is that the Belgian experience will allow him to develop further and return to Al-Ittihad in a stronger position.
