Ghanaian centre-forward Baba Haruna has joined Finnish club FC Honka from Atlantis FC on a free transfer, completing a return to the side where he began his senior career.
The 23-year-old has signed a contract with Honka that runs until 31 December 2027. Haruna’s move was completed on 2 September 2026, with the striker switching between clubs in Finland’s Kakkonen, moving from Atlantis’ Group A side to Honka’s Group B team.
Haruna arrives after a productive spell with Atlantis during the 2026 campaign. He scored 18 goals in 15 appearances in Kakkonen Group A, playing 1,350 minutes and averaging a goal every 75 minutes. He also scored three times in one Suomen Cup appearance, taking his tally to 21 goals across those competitions.
The Ghanaian forward’s output established him as a regular contributor for Atlantis, where he started 83% of the club’s Kakkonen Group A matches. He also made one appearance in Kolmonen Etela Group B during the season.
Haruna joined Atlantis from FC Jazz in February 2026, also on a free transfer. His move to Honka is the latest step in a sequence of transfers within Finnish football, after he left SalPa for FC Jazz at the start of 2025. Before that, he had spent time with Tampere United on loan from SalPa during the first half of the 2024-25 season.
The 1.86m striker was born in Wungu and is a Ghanaian national. He is left-footed and operates primarily through the centre of the attack, giving Honka a forward whose recent record includes 21 goals in 16 appearances across league and cup football.
Haruna originally joined SalPa from FC Honka II in January 2024, also on a free transfer. His return to Honka therefore brings him back to a club he previously represented at reserve level, although he now arrives after a season in which he produced his most substantial scoring numbers among the clubs listed in his recent career.
FC Honka have completed Haruna’s free transfer from Atlantis, with the forward contracted to the Finnish club until the end of 2027.
