German-Ghanaian centre-back Hendry Blank has joined Greuther Furth from Salzburg on a season-long loan, switching from the Bundesliga to Germany’s 2. Bundesliga.
The 22-year-old defender’s move was completed on 1 September 2026, and his stay with Furth runs until 30 June 2027. Blank returns to Germany after spending the previous season on loan at Hannover 96, where his temporary spell ended in June before he went back to Salzburg.
Blank began the 2026-27 campaign with Salzburg but had not made an appearance before moving to Furth. He remained unused in the club’s Bundesliga, Europa League qualifying and Austrian Cup matches recorded this season.
The 1.90m centre-back is left-footed and joins Furth with experience of German football from his development at Borussia Dortmund. He moved into Dortmund’s under-19 side in 2021 before progressing to Dortmund II in July 2023. Salzburg then signed him from the German club in February 2024.
Blank’s first senior move to Salzburg followed a spell with Dortmund II and marked his switch away from the club where he had won the German Under-19 Bundesliga title in the 2021-22 season. He was also part of Dortmund’s under-19 side that won the German Under-19 Bundesliga West championship in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
His career also includes an earlier spell in the Bayer Leverkusen youth set-up before joining Dortmund’s youth ranks in 2019. The move to Furth gives the defender a return to German football after his recent time in Austria and his loan campaign with Hannover.
Furth’s new signing is registered as a defender and will wear the club’s colours through the 2026-27 season. The loan is scheduled to end on 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Salzburg.
Blank has therefore completed his move from Salzburg to Greuther Furth on loan until the end of June 2027.
