Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association, Dr Randy Abbey, believes Inaki Williams first goal for the Black Stars is good for his confidence.

The Athletic Club man scored a 95th minute winner for the Black Stars in their first 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday evening.

The 29-year-old had gone 11 games without scoring for Ghana, with conversations being had about the possibility of relegating him to the bench.

Iñaki Williams delivered at the most crucial moment against the Barea, nodding in a perfect Gideon Mensah cross to hand Ghana crucial three points.

Speaking to Citi Sports after the game, the Heart of Lions President believes the goal will serve as a motivation for Inaki in the Comoros game.

“It’s a happy Inaki Williams day. The goal is good for his confidence, I hope it motivates him for the next game,” Abbey said.

Ghana will play away to Comoros on Tuesday, November 21 at the Moroni Stadium with kickoff at 4 pm.
