Defender Alexander Djiku has been left out from Ghana’s 25-man squad for this month’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar and Comoros .
The Fenerbahçe is currently sidelined due to injury.
Fenerbahçe confirmed after an MRI scan that the defender suffered “a non-displaced fracture in the fifth metatarsal bone of the right foot.”
He’s expected to be out for some weeks, ruling him out of the qualifiers for this year.
The former SC Strasbourg player is however expected to be fit in time for the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in January.
Ghana will host Madagascar on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium before facing Comoros in Moroni on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
