Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has expressed his excitement after earning a recall to the Black Stars squad for the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Stade Rennes right-back returns to the national team after several months on the sidelines with a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that kept him out of action and international duty.
Seidu has impressed since regaining full fitness, putting in consistent performances in Ligue 1 this season to earn his place back in Otto Addo’s setup for the decisive qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
The 24-year-old took to social media to share his gratitude and joy:
“Thank you all for the support and words of encouragement during my injury. I am happy to be back to the team,” he wrote.
Ghana currently sit top of Group I and need just four points from their final two games to book a spot at the 2026 World Cup to be hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
