Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, remains upbeat despite the setback against Angola in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The Black Stars suffered a frustrating start to their campaign, as Milson’s last-minute strike handed Angola a vital victory at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
This defeat marked Ghana’s first loss on home soil in Kumasi in 24 years.
The loss has dropped the national team to third in Group F, with Angola and Sudan holding the top two positions.
“We lost today, but we have to look at the chances we allowed and not just the goal we conceded,” Otto Addo said.
“I said it the last time, defence starts in attack, so we need to press, be a bit more compact and work harder.”
“The second half makes me very confident. The good thing is that it is still in our hands. We’ve still got games against all the teams in the group, so we just have to do our job.
“There were a lot of positives to be taken from this; we should’ve taken our chances.”
The Black Stars will now turn their attention to their next match, aiming for redemption against Niger on Monday, 9th September.
