Coach Otto Addo has not included Thomas Partey in the Black Stars squad for the final qualifiers of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in November against Niger and Angola.
It is the second consecutive time the deputy captain has not been invited to the senior national team.
Coach Addo said he asked the Arsenal star not to come and the reason is “confidential”.
Meanwhile, substantive captain Andre Ayew is still out as well as Mohammed Salisu who is injured.
The call-up included three debutants of Nations FC’s Razak Simpson, Asante Kotoko’s Emmanuel Antwi and Nathaniel Adjei of Lorient.
Full squad
The Black Stars will face Angola on November 15 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, followed by a home match against Niger Republic three days later at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana is currently in third place in Group F and will need to win their remaining games while hoping that Sudan loses both of their matches against Niger and Angola in order to qualify.
