The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will start on September 12, 2025, and conclude on May 23-24, 2026.
The schedule has been carefully planned to ensure the league wraps up before the 23rd FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11, 2026.
Premier League matches will primarily be played on Sundays, with midweek slots for outstanding fixtures.
The player registration window will open on June 23 and close on August 24, 2025.
Defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars SC will start their title defense, while three newly promoted teams, Techiman Eleven Wonders FC, Swedru All Blacks United FC, and Hohoe United FC, will make their mark in the top flight.
The GFA’s Ordinary Congress is scheduled for August 12, 2025. By releasing the schedule early, the GFA aims to give clubs, players, and stakeholders sufficient time to plan and prepare for the upcoming season.
The early announcement is expected to contribute to a well-organized and competitive campaign.
The GFA is committed to adhering to the FIFA calendar while maintaining the integrity of local football.
