Black Princesses captain, Afi Amenyaku, is thrilled to league the team to the 2023 African Games women’s football glory.

The goalkeeper was a key member of the team as they went the whole tournament unbeaten and crowned it with an extra time win over Nigeria in the final on Thursday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Speaking to Joy Sports after the game, said, “It’s a dream come true for me as the captain to lead the team to win gold.

“This is my first time of captaining the team in a tournament. I’m very happy to be able to win gold.”

Amenyaku’s error allowed Nigeria to take the lead in the first half before Tracy Twum scored the equalizer for the Black Princesses 12 minutes to the full-time.

Mukarama Abdulai then netted the winning goal for Ghana in extra time to win the competition gold for the Black Princesses.

The stadium was electric for the entire duration of the game.
