Senegal’s rising talent, Lamine Camara, has attributed his stellar performance and Man of the Match award in their Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 opener against The Gambia to the support of his senior teammates.
The 20-year-old Metz FC player, who recently joined the French club, secured the accolade with a notable brace and an outstanding overall display.
Expressing his joy over the recognition, Camara emphasized that the achievement is a result of collective hard work.
He stated, “I am happy with this recognition. This is the result of the hard work that we all did. Winning the first match remains a good thing.”
Remaining focused on upcoming matches, the young star shared, “I am pleased after scoring a brace in the match, and I must remain focused now on the rest of the matches.
“I am pleased to participate in such a tournament with the first team and to be in the company of senior players such as Sadio Mane and others. These players are the ones who helped me stand out today.”
