Ghana coach Otto Addo has explained the reason behind the decision to make seven changes in his starting line up to face Central Africa Republic in the second game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Mohammed Kudus had put the Black Stars in the lead in the 17th minute before Central Africa Republic equalized through Karl Namnganda who smashed a powerful one past goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi. The game ended 1-1.
Otto Addo has been criticized by some fans for not maintaining they beat Madagascar 3-0 in the opening game of the qualifier at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The Ayew brothers and a host of other first team players were dropped in the second game against CAF.
The Dortmund trainer in an interview explained his decision not give other players the chance to start ahead of some senior players.
“I think the team was not weak, we had a lot of ball possession, the problem was the goal we conceded because they were not made for that. We didn’t run enough behind their defence. We had injuries, others sick, some have weak legs that’s why I decided to make changes”
Ghana have accrued four points and are on top of Group E of the qualifiers with four points from a possible six.
The Black Stars will play Angola in their next game of the qualifiers.
