Nations FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Bofoakwa Tano on Sunday at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in match week 26 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
Despite the draw, Nations are second with 44 points while Bofoakwa Tano are 15th with 30 points.
The visitors took a shock lead through Charles Mensah who converted a chance 13 minutes into the first half.
With 9 minutes to the end of the half, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie failed to get the home side level after he missed a penalty kick in the 36th minute.
The first half ended with Bofoakwa Tano leading 1-0 but that lead did not last after the break.
Barimah Baah equalised for Nations FC one minute after recess but there was more drama to come.
Emmanuel Boateng Agyenim restored the lead for Bofoakwa Tano in the 81st minute. Prince Acquah pulled the equaliser for Nations FC six minutes later.
Nations FC will take on Heart of Lions on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Kpando Sports Stadium while Bofoakwa Tano take Bechem United at the Sunyani Coronation the same day in match week 27 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
