2023/24 Ghana Premier League Week 25: Match Report – Medeama 2-0 Accra Hearts of Oak

Reigning champions Medeama secured a crucial victory against Accra Hearts of Oak with a 2-0 win in their Ghana Premier League Week 25 showdown at Akoon Park.

Medeama, sitting in 9th place with 33 points, faced off against Hearts of Oak, who were in 10th place with 32 points before the match.

The game started with intense battles as both teams sought control. However, neither side could break the deadlock in the first half, with several missed opportunities. In the 65th minute, Kobina Amoah finally put Medeama ahead.

Hearts of Oak attempted to stage a comeback, making tactical substitutions, but Medeama’s resilience paid off. Godfred Abban netted the second goal for the Yellow and Mauve in the 81st minute, sealing their victory.

Despite Hearts of Oak’s late substitutions, including Enock Asubonteng and Isaac Frimpong, they couldn’t overturn the deficit. Medeama emerged victorious, securing three crucial points in their league campaign.

Medeama will play Legon Cities in their next game. The Phobians will face Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
