Defending champions Medeama SC returned to league action for the first time in a month with a 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars at the Tarkwa Akoon Park on Boxing Day.
Medeama move from 12th to 10th on the league table with 19 points from 12 games while the Gye Nyame lads drop from 13th to 14th with 15 points from 16 games.
The game was a keenly contested one with the first half ending in a drub goalless draw. The action was much of the same in the second half until the visitors gave away a penalty.
Kwadwo Amoako stepped up to convert from the spot and give Medeama the winner in the 74th minute.
After the defeat, Frimpong Manso’s Bibiani Gold Stars now have one win in their last six outings, losing three and drawing two games.
Medeama’s next game will be against Karela United while Bibiani Gold Stars will face off against Legon Cities in match week 17 of the Ghana Premier League.
