2023/24 CAF Champions League: Medeama game a must win for us – Yanga Coach

Young Africans coach Angel Gamondi has emphasized the must-win nature of their 2023/24 CAF Champions League game against Medeama in Kumasi.

The Tanzanian club, eager to secure their first victory in Group D, is set to face the Ghanaian champions on match day three following a defeat and a draw in their first two games.

Young Africans embarked on their Group D campaign with a tough 3-0 defeat against Belouizdad in an away match.

Subsequently, they managed to salvage a 1-1 draw at home against Al Ahly. With the disappointment of the initial outcomes, Coach Gamondi is determined to turn the tide and secure a crucial win against Medeama.

Addressing the media in anticipation of the game, the Argentinian coach expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and emphasized the significance of the upcoming clash.

“We are preparing very well. We come here with the determination to win. For us, it’s a must-win game.

“We made some mistakes in our previous games, but we are determined to win tomorrow. We are well prepared—mentally and physically.

“Not only us, but Medeama too. We are in the same group with two big teams, and we know what they can do. For us, it’s a  must-win and we will do our best.”
