Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil says he has confidence in the current Black Stars players ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Paintsil, who featured in two World Cups during his playing career, helping the team reach the quarter-finals in 2010 believes the playing-body will excel at the Mundial in Qatar.

Ghana is going for her fourth World Cup tournament which is set to start on November 20 to December 18.

“I have got so much confidence in this players . They are experienced enough to know how to deal with a lot of situations.” he told TV3..

“Their [technical team] experience will reflect in the players and then the two games they played against Nigeria tell me that the sky is the limit for the Black Stars.”

“Going into Qatar, we have great players. It’s a matter of playing more games together before the World Cup and we’ll be able to have a team. I believe the technical men will turn things around going forward.”

Ghana have been drawn against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
