2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 16: Match Report- Tamale City 3-0 Kotoku Royals

Tamale City rebounded from Wednesday’s draw at Samartex with a 3-0 victory against fellow relegation contenders Kotoku Royals at Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Sampson Eduku, a City striker, opened the goal in the 29th minute. It was a swashbuckling affair, with him brilliantly notching home to put his team ahead.

Before halftime, Matthew Agama increased the advantage in the 45th minute. However, after the break, both teams sent players forward, but it was the Citizens who delivered an outstanding match-winning second-half performance.

Kotoku Royals tried to get a consolation goal from the encounter but their efforts on goal went wide. Tamale City also made some tactical changes to maintain their control on the game.

Justice Mensah made it 3-0 in the 70th minute as Tamale City secured seventeenth place with 15 points, while Kotoku remains in eighteenth place with 10 points.

Tamale City will take on Medeama in their matchweek 17 game while struggling Kotoku Royals will play Karela United.
