Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew fears the artificial surface of Comoros’ pitch could hamper his country’s chances in the World Cup qualifier first leg tie on Friday.
However the deputy Black Stars captain insists his teammates will fight to ensure progression to the next stage of the qualifying campaign.
The Ghanaians travel to Moroni for the first leg tie on Friday November 13 and the artificial playing surface has become a matter of concern for the visitors.
While insisting they will not underrate the Ayatollah, the Swansea City star says the synthetic turf in Moroni is a concern.
“I know only a few players in their team. Most of them are players who play in France in the second and third division etc. so it’s not a team that you can underrate” he told reporters in Accra
“We are going to play on a difficult pitch which is the Astroturf. It’s not good for your body or for the game but we are going to prepare to adapt to the situation because we want to qualify.”
The Black Stars will hold their last training session on Wednesday before flying out to the tiny nation.
