13th African Games: We will approach Senegal game with all seriousness – Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi

The head coach of the Black Princesses, Yussif Bassigi is confident his team will beat the Senegal U20 team in their semi-final game at the 13th African Games today.

The U20 women’s national teams of the two countries will lock horns tonight in a bid to secure a spot in the final.

Speaking ahead of the game, Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi said his team will not underrate the opponent although they have beaten them recently.

“We played Senegal during the World Cup qualifiers and scored them but going into this game, we will not underrate them. I have watched them play and they are a good side so we will go into the game taking it very seriously as it will be a tough game,” Coach Basigi said.

The Black Princesses coach in his pre-match interview backed striker Mukarama Abdulai to get back to her best soon.

“Mukarama missing chances doesn’t mean she won’t feature for the team. I will keep using her and hopefully, she will gain her confidence back.

“She is the lead striker and being away for a long time sometimes makes you inconsistent but the team will keep giving her the opportunity to continue playing and I know she will convert most of her chances going forward,” Coach Yussif Basigi noted.

The game between Ghana U20 women’s national team and Senegal U20 women’s national team will kick off at 8pm tonight at the Cape Coast Sports stadium..
