13th African Games: Uganda U20 women’s national team fight to share spoils with Ghana’s Black Princesses

The Ghana U20 women’s national team have been held to a 1-1 draw by the Uganda U20 women’s national team in the football tournament of the ongoing 13th African Games.

Nicknamed the Black Princesses, the Ghanaian side went into today’s game on the back of two wins in their previous Group A games.

In today’s game played against Uganda at the Cape Coast Stadium, the Ghana Black Princesses started slowly and conceded after just 11 minutes into the first half.

Forced to chase the game, the Black Princesses fought very hard and restored parity through starr forward Mukarama Abdulai in the 33rd minutes.

The second half of the contest started in an entertaining fashion as both national teams chased the game to find the equalizer to win all three points.

Although the Black Princesses dominated play, they could not scored again and had to settle for the 1-1 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

The Black Princesses with seven points get to top Group A of the women’s football tournament at the 13th African Games and will compete in the semi-finals.
