Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito says his team will approach the FA Cup final against lower-tier side Golden Kick with full seriousness.
The Porcupine Warriors are set for a June 15 showdown at the University of Ghana Stadium, where they aim to end an FA Cup title drought that stretches back to 2017.
Kotoko booked their spot in the final after a narrow 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea, while Golden Kick pulled off a surprise 3-1 victory against Attram De Visser to reach their first-ever final.
“I am going there for the cup, so whoever comes there [to the final], I am going to deal with it, I am going to fight it, I am going to make sure that I beat the team and then take the cup,” Zito said.
“You can’t underrate any club until you get what you want, so I don’t care whether they are in Division One or not, I don’t care.”
Before the final, Zito will lead Kotoko to a league action on May 18 against his former employers Dreams FC.
