Zackaria Fuseini joins Asante Kotoko on three-year deal

Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of central defender Zackaria Fuseini, with the 27-year-old putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Fuseini joins the Porcupine Warriors from Berekum Chelsea, where he built a solid reputation over several seasons. A consistent performer and former club captain, he racked up 133 appearances for the Blues after making his debut as a teenager. His career also includes a brief spell in Spain with San Fernando CD, which added an international edge to his game.

Known for his calm presence, intelligent positioning, and vocal leadership, Fuseini brings both experience and composure to Kotoko’s backline; a key addition as the club looks to strengthen for the upcoming campaign.

Speaking to Kotoko Media, the former Black Meteors defender couldn’t hide his excitement about the move:

“It’s an honour to wear the Kotoko shirt. I see this as the perfect stage to elevate my career. My aim is to help the team win trophies and earn a place in the Black Stars ; I believe I have what it takes. People say this move came late, but I see it differently. I’m coming in more mature and ready for the challenge that comes with playing for a big club like Kotoko.”

Fuseini’s arrival is another signal of intent from the Reds, as they look to bring back glory days to Kumasi with smart, experienced signings.
