In an exclusive interview with ghanafa.org, Yussif Basigi, the head coach of the Black Princesses, urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team with unwavering support as they prepare for the 13th African Games in Accra 2023.
Expressing his optimism about the upcoming tournament, Basigi called for fans to attend matches in large numbers and provide both vocal encouragement and fervent prayers for the Black Princesses. “We will count on Ghanaians’ support during this tournament. They should come to the stadium in their numbers and support us with prayers as well,” emphasized the coach.
As the Black Princesses commence their campaign against Ethiopia on Saturday, March 9, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, Basigi stressed the significance of home support in boosting the team’s morale. He acknowledged the impact of fans in creating a vibrant atmosphere and fostering a sense of unity among the players.
Basigi’s call for support aligns with the belief that the backing of passionate fans can act as a powerful motivator for the team. With the tournament being held on home soil, the coach emphasized the importance of creating a positive environment that propels the Black Princesses to success.
