Youngster Lawrence Agyekum features as Red Bull Salzburg thrash Atletico Madrid to book UEFA Youth League final spot –

Ghanaian teenager Lawrence Agyekum played a significant role for Red Bull Salzburg U19 as they made it to the UEFA Youth League final after thrashing Atletico Madrid U19.

Salzburg cruised to an emphatic 5-0 victory over the Spanish side in the semi-finals at the Colovray Stadium in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.

The 18-year-old midfielder was given a start and lasted 73 minutes in the game before being replaced with Marcel Moswitzer.

Two goals from Croatian forward Roko Simic and one other from Dijon Kameri gave Salzburg a 3-0 advantage at the break.

Tolgahan Sahin and Ivorian youngster Oumar Diakite scored a goal each in the second half to ensure the Austrian side make it to the final of the youth competition.

Austria-born defender Samson Baidoo lasted the entire duration of of the match while Ghanaian forward Daniel Owusu was on the bench.

Salzburg won the competition for the very first time in 2016/2017 beating Portuguese outfit SL Benfica in the final.

They face the Benfica in the fianl again this season which takes place on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Nyon.
