Wydad Athletic Club have brought former captain Yahya Jabrane back to the club on a one-season contract, in a move designed to add experience and stability to the squad ahead of their next campaign.
The Moroccan club officially confirmed Jabrane’s return to what it described as the “red home”, making him the latest addition to an active summer recruitment programme. His arrival is intended to strengthen the team before the start of its forthcoming commitments.
According to Moroccan website ElBotola, Wydad Athletic Club warmly welcomed back Jabrane and are relying on his extensive experience and detailed knowledge of the club’s environment and culture. The club believes those qualities can provide significant value to the squad as it seeks to meet its ambitions and reward its supporters.
Jabrane previously captained Wydad Athletic Club and his return is expected to bring familiarity and leadership to a group being reshaped under the club’s new management structure. His deal will run for one season.
Wydad prioritise contract renewals
Alongside their incoming transfers, Wydad Athletic Club’s new board have made the renewal of several key players’ contracts an urgent priority.
Goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid and right-back Mohammed Mofeed are among the players whose agreements expire at the end of next season. The club’s management are working to resolve both situations as quickly as possible.
