Brighton and Hove Albion trainer Robert De Zerbi has opened up on Ghana’s defender Tariq Lamptey injury situation.
Lamptey is currently on the sideline after sustaining a knee injury over a month.
Brighton expected his return after he was spotted training , but it appears the injury has aggravated.
Speaking ahead of their clash against Bournemouth on Tuesday, De Zerbi said there will be clarity on Lamptey’s injury in the coming week.
“It’s a difficult situation, we will see in the next week [about Tariq]. To have some solution on the bench in the coming weeks is important,” he said.
As a result of the injury, the 22-year-old missed Ghana’s AFCON qualifier doubleheader against Angola.
