The Parliament of Portugal has voted and approved for the country’s Prime Minister Antonio Costa to have a trip to Qatar and watch their opener against Ghana.
The Political groups PS,PCP and PSD all voted to approve the president trip whiles Livre and PAN also voted against the trip.
In his traveling request, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa requested parliamentary authorization to leave the country between November 23rd and 25th to watch the first match against Ghana of the in Qatar.
“The attendance of the highest figures of the State to watch the National Team games was agreed.” the Speaker of Parliament, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that in a letter.
“The presence of the Speaker of Parliament, Augusto Santos Silva, being foreseen in the second game (November 28) and the Prime Minister, António Costa, in the third (December 2).”
Portugal will play Ghana in group H opener before playing Uruguay and South Korea Republic respectively.
