Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo has shared his thoughts on what caused the Black Stars’ early exit from the ongoing 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
According to the 1978 AFCON winner, inexperienced of the players and the technical team attributed to Ghana’s failure to progress to the next phase of the tournament.
The four time African champions lost 3-2 to Portugal in opening game and a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in between a 3-2 win against South Korea.
Speaking on Class FM, Polo said, “I think, the inexperience played a part in the Black Stars exit from the World Cup.”
“Majority of the players are new faces or recruits in the team, together with the technical team. That notwithstanding, the way we [Ghana] exited the competition is something we could have prevented which was not done on the part of the technical team.” Polo remarked to Class Sports.
The four time African champions finished their outing in the world biggest football tournament with just three points after playing three matches.
