Ghana coach, Otto Addo believes the Black Stars will hope to seek revenge against Uruguay in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana, who are making their fourth appearance in the history of the Mundial will open their campaign against Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
Ghana will then play Uruguay in a rematch of the controversial quarterfinal in 2010, which the South Americans won on penalties, stopping them from becoming the first African team to reach a World Cup semifinal.
“I’m sure that’ll be in the back of the minds of some players because it was a decisive game, not just for Ghana but for Africa as a whole,” Addo told Fifa.com.
The Black Stars having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018 will be hoping to improve their performance in Qatar after exiting the group phase during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Otto Addo on Monday named his final 26-man squad and opened camp in Abu Dhabi.
The team will be tested in a friendly game against Switzerland on November 17.
The 22nd edition of the world’s biggest football tournament has been scheduled to kick off from November 20 to December 18.
