Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says his side will rely on the experience of Andre Ayew going into their final group game against Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Captain is the only current player who was part of Ghana’s squad that played against the South Americans in South Africa 2010.
Ghana lost to Uruguay after Luis Suarez deliberately used his hand to block what would have been the winner for Ghana, and the resulting penalty was missed by Gyan.
However Coach Otto Addo believes his vast experience will go along way to help team team against Uruguay.
“Andre will be important for us just like everybody. It’s about a team. He lived it and experienced what happened in 2010,” coach Otto Addo told ghanafa.org.
“We know with team work and hard work we can achieve a lot in this World Cup.”
Ghana and Uruguay face off at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday at 15:00 GMT.
Black Stars are currently second in Group H while Uruguay lie bottom with only one point.
