Ghana’s all-time top-scorer Asamoah Gyan has warned the Black Stars against “taking revenge” ahead of the encounter versus Uruguay on Friday.
Gyan entreats the team to stick to their game plan and achieve a result that will see them qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament.
Luis Suarez deliberately used his hand to block what would have been the winner for Ghana, and the resulting penalty was missed by Gyan.
“We’re human beings. People will have it at the back of their minds about this revenge thing against Uruguay.” Gyan told TV3.
“It’s a normal thing but it shouldn’t get to our heads too much. We have to stick to the game plan. Thinking about revenge wouldn’t help.” He cautioned.
Ghana must win or draw to advance to the knockout stage, while Uruguay must win to stay alive.
