However, one such talent that has now left is Diogo Jota, who was solid if unspectacular during his time in the Midlands.
Having moved to Liverpool for a mouth-watering fee of £41m, it seemed like Wolves had pulled off a wonderful piece of business.
In 131 appearances for the Old Gold, he had scored just 44 times and assisted 19. The 25-year-old was helpful but not instrumental in their Championship title, and then had only mustered 16 goals in 67 Premier League appearances.
Jurgen Klopp’s decision seemed crazy, but the German manager does have a knack for turning players into world-class talents.
Now, having played anywhere across his front line, Jota is seen as a “lethal” forward who is a huge miss when unavailable.
Last season, he scored 15 goals in the league and assisted a further six. He became one of the most important cogs for the Merseyside outfit and scored some hugely important goals on their way to winning the FA and League Cups.
Like with most things that Klopp touches, Jota has turned to gold. Gold that has seen its value increase to an outstanding €110m (£96m) via Football Observatory.
Wolves will be wondering where this clinical nature was for them, as the Portugal international has shown his ability to score all kinds of goals with both feet and his head.
He has been moulded into the perfect interchangeable Klopp striker, and his game has benefitted from it exponentially.
Nuno Espirito Santo may have signed him as a youngster and got a wonderful fee to see him leave, but his old club are now facing their worst nightmare as Jota continues to grow as a player at Anfield.
