We may only be 11 games into the Premier League season, but Sunday’s clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City already feels like something of a relegation six-pointer.

Both sides find themselves in the bottom three ahead of their meeting at Molineux, with third-bottom Wolves leading second-bottom Leicester by a solitary point.

Manager-less Wolves have announced that Steve Davis will remain as interim head coach until 2023, while Brendan Rogers’ is fighting to save his job at Leicester. Who will come out on top this weekend?

Wolves have only managed to win two of their 11 Premier League encounters this season, registering two draws and six losses.

To make matters worse for Wolves, they are the league’s lowest scorers – having netted just five goals this season (0.45 goals per game).

The Wanderers head into Sunday’s clash on a run of four losses in five outings, following defeats to Manchester City (0-3), West Ham United (2-0), Chelsea (3-0) and Crystal Palace (2-1).

Having managed to score just one goal across their past five Premier League games, Wolves aren’t expected to create many chances on Sunday.

As for Leicester, they claimed only their second league win of the season on Thursday – dispatching Leeds United 2-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Having drawn two and lost seven of their 11 Premier League outings this term, there is no denying than Brendan Rodgers’ boys are underachieving at the moment.

To make matters worse, the Foxes have conceded 24 league goals this season (2.2 goals per game) – meaning they have the poorest defensive record in the division.

On a brighter note, however, they have scored 17 goals. As a result, only seven teams have netted more Premier League goals than Leicester this term.

Head-to-head: Both sides claimed home wins in this fixture last season, with Leicester winning 1-0 at the King Power Stadium and Wolves winning 2-1 at Molineux.

Three of the past six meetings between Wolves and Leicester have ended in a draw, with the Wanderers picking up just one victory during that period.

Team news: Wolves look set to be without the injured quartet of Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto, Sasa Kalajdzic and Chiquinho on Sunday.

Leicester have injury absentees, too, with Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi and Ryan Betrand expected to miss Sunday’s clash. On a brighter note, James Maddison is in line to return from suspension.

Given the current situation, Sunday’s clash is destined to be a tense and cagey affair between two struggling sides.
