Dreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon says his team will approach their upcoming FA Cup clash with belief and determination as they aim to progress to the semi-final stage of the MTN FA Cup.
Dreams FC are scheduled to face Heart of Lions in the quarter-final of the competition at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, March 15. The match is expected to attract significant attention as both clubs pursue a place among the final four teams in Ghana’s biggest domestic cup tournament.
As the game approaches, Dormon believes his side understands the challenge that lies ahead. The two clubs have already met in the Ghana Premier League this season, producing contrasting results that highlight how competitive their encounters have been.
The Dreams FC coach reflected on those previous meetings and noted that both teams are already familiar with each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
“In the league, we went there and lost 1-0. That was painful. But in the second meeting, we won 3-0. So we know what they’re capable of, and they know what we can do.”
Those past results, according to Dormon, provide useful lessons for his players as they prepare for another important showdown.
While the FA Cup offers a different challenge from league competition, he believes the experience gained from those matches will help the team prepare effectively.
Dormon emphasised that confidence alone will not be enough for his team to progress. He stressed the importance of maintaining focus, discipline and tactical awareness throughout the contest.
“We have to be optimistic but also cautious. We believe in the players we have. We believe we can go to Cape Coast, play our game, and win.”
Dreams FC will be hoping their players can execute their strategy on the day and deliver a performance capable of securing victory.
A win would move the club closer to the FA Cup trophy and strengthen their ambitions of finishing the season with silverware.
Kick-off for the quarter-final encounter is scheduled for 3:00 pm on Sunday.
With both sides eager to advance in the competition, supporters are anticipating an intense and competitive contest in Cape Coast.
