Owner of Skyy FC and a member of the MTN FA Cup committee, Wilson Arthur, has made a startling claim that many Ghanaian football clubs use juju, a form of black magic, to gain an unfair advantage over their opponents.
In an interview on Asempa FM, Arthur alleged that clubs often employ spiritual means to influence the decisions of referees as well as the outcome of matches.
He claimed that referees, players, and coaches are frequently “worked on spiritually” to achieve a desired result.
“Referees are always put under a spell. The referees are worked on, and the players and coaches are worked on spiritually.
“For instance, I was asked to leave my seat while watching a match because I was told my team had been put under a spell. The moment I left my seat, we scored a goal. Personally, I don’t believe these things, but there are weird things in football.” he concluded
Arthur’s claims have raised a lot of concerns following the uninspiring performances of some Ghanaian referees in the Ghana Premier League.
