William Dankyi announces Hearts of Oak departure

William Dankyi has announced his departure from Hearts of Oak after the expiration of his contract.

Dankyi joined the Phonians four seasons ago from Liberty Professionals and has within the period, won a league title and two FA Cup laurels.

He established himself as the club’s first-choice left back in the first half of the season but lost his place to Dennis Korsah in the second round.

His versatility ensured he was assigned defensive midfield roles in most of Hearts’ games including the FA Cup final triumph over Bechem United.

”I say big thank you to my teammates, my managers, staff of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, and to the fans that supported me. My journey with the club has been a great one, full of making history together since I arrived here 4 years ago.”  Dankyi said on a social media post.

“Continuous growth requires me to forge ahead on my journey, therefore my relationship with the club comes to an end. It was a great pleasure to create memories together to win trophies that lives on forever.

“I also want to thank the Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, and the board members for giving me the opportunity to play for this club. From my management, Lordico Promotions Ltd, and I, we say thank you and God bless you!

Such an honour to be part of this great Oak family. Cheers!”

The former Black Satellites player is understood to have several foreign clubs interested in him.
