Lionesses coach Sarina Wiegman praised Ghana’s resilience and organization after England’s 2-0 win.

“Ghana was very well organised, and they really wanted to come in to duel, and we tried to stay out of there,” she said.

Wiegman acknowledged Ghana’s strong defensive setup, which posed a challenge for England’s attack.

Despite Ghana’s efforts, England’s quality shone through, with Lucia Kendall and Alessia Russo scoring the goals.

Wiegman commended her team’s performance, stating they worked hard to exploit Ghana’s defense.

“We got enough opportunities to create, use chances and score goals,” she added, expressing frustration at England’s missed chances.

Wiegman praised Ghana’s determination, saying they “really wanted to come in to duel”.
