Mohammed Kudus’s proposed transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion is on the verge of collapse following a disagreement over the inclusion of a release clause in the deal.
Earlier this week, the Seagulls reached an agreement with Ajax to pay 40M for the Ghanaian’s services.
Reports in England suggest that the transfer is now in jeopardy after the 23 year old requested a release clause in his contract.
Kudus is demanding the clause after seeing the club’s stance in the Moisés Caicedo’s protracted transfer saga.
Talks are still ongoing between all parties to find an amicable solution soon.
The Black Stars midfielder has no shortage of suitors with German giants Borussia Dortmund and a host of English sides monitoring his situation.
Kudus is under contract at Ajax until 2025 but rejected a one-year extension in April and is keen to leave the Johan Cruyff Arena.
He has spent three seasons in Amsterdam, scoring 16 goals in 63 Eredivisie matches. He has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for Ghana, including two at the 2022 World Cup in the 3-2 group-stage win over South Korea.
