Communications Director of Legon Cities, Kwame Dwomoh has admitted his side have been relegated from the Ghana Premier League due to underwhelming performances.
Legon Cities relegation from the Ghana Premier League was confirmed on Monday following a 4-1 defeat to Nations FC.
The loss signalled the end to top flight football for the club, who are 17th in the 18-man league.
Speaking to 3Sports, Dwomoh admitted the club have been far from convincing this term.
“Unfortunately, we’ve not been good enough on the pitch that’s why we’ve been relegated. We did our best as management. Obviously we decided to run the club along certain models.”
“If you look at the team at some point, we were going in for big stars. At some point as a club, we decided we will go for youth and experience. Because when we brought in the stars we were not getting results so we decided to go in for a blend,” he added.
With three games to go to end the season, two relegation spots have been confirmed, with one more club set to join Legon Cities and Nsoatreman by the end of the season.
