West Ham keen on re-signing Jesse Lingard

West Ham is keen on re-signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United in the summer.

Lingard had a superb second half of the season with the Hammers last year and there were reports that he would move to the Londo Stadium on a permanent basis last summer but a deal didn’t materialize.

The midfielder has seen less game time this season with United and with his contract coming to an end next month, United is not interested in tying him up to a new deal with a chunk of clubs ready to get the player on a free transfer.

Newcastle had appeared to be red-hot favorites to sign Lingard this summer, but the Magpies have balked at his hefty wage demands according to reports from 90Min. The club has Kieran Trippier as their highest earner and doesn’t want to add a player who will inflate their wage bill.

The same wage demands are what the Hammers had feared earlier with the report claiming that the signing of the player might cause unrest in the tea as other senior players might demand more money from the club.

Apart from the Premier League duo, there have been reports from Italy that Milan rivals are keen on the player as well as Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
