Bibiani GoldStars skipper Yakubu Haqq says the club is stepping up preparations ahead of their historic debut in the CAF Champions League.
The Ghana Premier League champions will face elite opposition from across the continent, and Haqq believes extra effort is needed.
“Being champions in Ghana means we’ll face other champions. That’s why our preparation this time is way ahead of any previous season,” the 30-year-old told Joy Sports.
GoldStars have already made key signings and are expected to strengthen further before the campaign kicks off.
The Miners will learn their preliminary round opponents on August 12, when CAF holds the official draw.
