Headcoach of Accra Lions Rainer Kraft emphasized the need for away wins to secure the team’s position in the Ghana Premier League.
Despite recent back-to-back victories against Basake Holy Stars and Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium, the team struggles with away games, having not won in the 2024/25 season.
The Accra based will face Heart of Lions on Sunday at Kpando Sport Stadium in a week 28 fixture.
Speaking to the club’s media, Kraft aims for a win in Kpando to take control of their fate.
“We have to prepare for the game in Kpando. Of course, we have some confidence now, Karela will play Nsoatreman, where they will gain three points.
We need a minimum of four points to be ahead of them and then we have it in our own hands. We will go for win anyway and if there is a point, then there is a point,” he said.
“We need to win away games, we have collected 13 points in our last five games at home at the University of Ghana and here at the Accra Sports Stadium. We now have to go for our first away win,” he added.
