Callum Hudson-Odoi could barely hide his satisfaction after driving Nottingham Forest to a commanding 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, insisting the performance reflected the team’s hunger from the very first whistle.
The England international of Ghanaian descent was central to everything Forest did at the City Ground, scoring twice and providing an assist in a dominant Premier League showing.
But for Hudson-Odoi, the most pleasing aspect was not just the goals — it was the mentality.
“As a forward, you want to be contributing as many goals and assists as possible,” he said after the game. “It has been hard for me recently, but I am happy to contribute to all three today.”
His words captured both relief and pride, after a period where opportunities had not always fallen his way.
Hudson-Odoi also highlighted Forest’s intensity, describing a performance built on urgency and togetherness rather than moments of individual brilliance.
“From the start we were go, go, go,” he explained. “Every game we want to be at maximum from the beginning. The boys delivered an amazing performance from start to finish. We wanted the game from defence to attack.”
That mindset was evident on the pitch. Hudson-Odoi opened the scoring in the 28th minute, struck again shortly after the break, and then turned provider for Ibrahim Sangaré to complete a comprehensive win.
For Forest, it was a statement victory. For Hudson-Odoi, it was a reminder of what happens, in his own words, when the team goes “go, go, go” from the first minute.
