Black Queens skipper Portia Boakye expressed her team’s growing ambition after Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to England.
The game didn’t quite go as planned for the Black Queens against the European champions, conceding two goals in either half.
“Black Queens have gotten to the place where they no longer want to play second fiddle. They want to win tournaments and make the country proud,” she told Sporty FM.
The Black Queens have been making steady progress, finishing 3rd at the 2024 WAFCON, and Boakye believes this squad is ready to take the next step.
“We have a good team, and we’re working hard to achieve our goals,” she aded.
Ghana will look to build on their progress at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next year.
The Black Queens will be looking to make a statement and bring pride to Ghanaian football fans.
