Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren says his team is ready to give everything as they prepare to take on host nation Morocco in a high-stakes semi-final clash.
Ghana will go into the game with memories of a previous tight contest against the North Africans, and Björkegren believes that while Morocco are a strong side, they are not unbeatable.“It was a tight game. We had our chance to win in the end — we lost in the last minute, if I remember right. It ended 0-0, but we saw we had the chance to win that kind of game as well,” the coach reflected.
He avoided discussing individual Moroccan players but acknowledged the overall quality in their setup.
Still, the Swedish tactician is confident that Ghana can find the openings they need if they remain focused and aggressive.
“Like all teams, they have some weaknesses too. So we just need to push harder and, hopefully, have a good game tomorrow.”
Björkegren also spoke about the challenges of tournament football, especially with games coming thick and fast after a long buildup.
“That’s the biggest challenge. You have a long preparation time, but once the tournament starts, everything moves really fast. That’s very different from coaching a club team.”
With a place in the final on the line, the Black Queens will hope to overcome fatigue and history to make a bold statement on Moroccan soil.
